The latest standings are highlighted below:
- The University of Delhi has improved its ranking in three categories: the Universities Category, the Overall Category, and the Research Institutions Category in the NIRF Rankings 2024.
- In the Universities Category, it has jumped from 11th position to 6th position
- In the Overall category, from 22nd position to 15th position
- In the Research Institutions category, from 17th position to 14th position
- The University of Delhi ranked 328 in the QS World University Rankings 2025, improving tremendously compared to 501-510 in the QS World University Rankings 2022.
- In 2025 edition, the University of Delhi performed among the Top 22% in the QS World University Rankings.
- Of the nine indicators, the University of Delhi has been ranked among 270 institutions globally in four indicators: 44 in Employment Outcomes, 220 in Sustainability, 225 in Academic Reputation, and 269 in Employer Reputation.
- Among the Central Universities from India, the university ranked 1st and improved its rank from 9th last year to 7th this time among all institutions.
- The University of Delhi has been ranked 1st in India (out of 56 Institutions, including IITs) and 220th globally (out of 1,403 Institutions) in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024, with an overall score of 73.4 out of 100.

- As per QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, the University of Delhi ranks for 25 subjects compared to 22 in 2023.
- Of these, 9 improved, 11 remained unchanged, and 4 ranked for the first time.
- Of these 25 subjects, 1 is within the Top 50, 2 is within the Top 100, 10 is within the Top 200, 21 is within the Top 300, and 24 is within the Top 400.
- The University now has 10 subjects among the Top 200, compared to 8 subjects last year; 21 among the Top 300, compared to 15 last year; and 24 among the Top 400, compared to 21 last year.
- The University of Delhi ranked 801-1000 in the Times Higher Education: World Universities Rankings 2024, improving tremendously compared to last year’s ranking of 1001-1200.
